Symptoms of Incontinence - Stress
Symptoms of incontinence involve involuntary urination or urinary leakage resulting from any sudden force that is naturally applied to the abdomen and torso. Some body function that may evoke this kind of pressure includes laughing, coughing, sneezing, lifting, crying, or physical strain of any kind. Other activities which may elicit enough abdomen pressure to result in involuntary urination within patients suffering from incontinence may also involve singing, exercising, sports, running, jumping, or sitting.
Treatments For Incontinence - Stress
Treatment for incontinence varies for each individual. However, most treatment methods involve weight loss, specific or localized exercise and physical therapy, quitting smoking, Kegel exercises, and drug therapy. In addition, therapies that focus on bladder training, electrical muscle stimulation, magnetic innervation, and pelvic muscle exercises may be recommended to aid in the patients physical ability to regain control of their bladder functions. Other options that may be provided will generally also include a pessary support device which can be installed into the vagina (in women). These methods, among others, are some of the most common methods used in the treatment of patients suffering from incontinence. In some cases, surgery may also be recommended. If you believe yourself to be experiencing symptoms related to incontinence, be sure to consult your doctor for further examination.
