Hand, foot, and mouth disease is an infection that occurs most frequently in children under the age of 10. Adults may also contract hand, foot, and mouth disease, but contraction in adults is fairly uncommon.
Symptoms of Hand - Foot And Mouth Disease
Symptoms begin in the throat and mouth and include:
A sore throat
Blisters and/or sores located within the lining of the throat and mouth
Rash (with blisters) located on the hands, feet, and groin
Mild fever
Loss of appetite
Stomach pain (sometimes)
Headache (sometimes)
Treatments For Hand - Foot And Mouth Disease
Treatment for hand, foot, and mouth disease generally consists of self-care and plenty of rest. Currently, there is no specific treatment administered for infection. However, if rendered necessary, treatment may be prescribed in order to aid in the reduction of symptoms. Recurrence of infection is rare.
