Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
General Information on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
CFS, or chronic fatigue syndrome, is a condition that is characterized by a very debilitating and severely persistent state of fatigue. Doctors are uncertain of the cause of CFS, though it has been postulated that it may be the result of a yet to be discovered infectious agent. The onset is usually very abrupt and persists in phases over a series of months up to a few years.
Symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
The initial onset of symptoms often appear very suddenly and may last for months. Eventually, over-time, these symptoms should begin to fade, though re-emergences of symptoms may continue off and on for up to a few years. Symptoms also vary from case to case. Treatments For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
There is no cure for chronic fatigue syndrome except time. However, there are a series of methods used that may be prescribed by your doctor in order to relieve the severity of symptoms and improve a patient’s overall quality of life during the long recovery process. Some of these methods include lifestyle changes such as exercise and abstaining from alcohol and smoking. Other treatment methods include counseling, drug therapy, and behavioral therapy. Exercise can also exacerbate symptoms if not properly implemented. If you are chronically experiencing many of the symptoms listed above talk to your doctor for further examination.

I have had chronic faigue syndrome for 23 years now. Its een an interesting and complex odessey. There is a specific course of the illness over the lifespan and waxes and wanes for a myriad of reasons, and someimes for no reason a all. Alhough many of us appear as very well and seem o funcion like others with adequate energy some days, weeks, or months to the outsidee. most of the pulic does not see us when our odies are unale to reound and e refreshed for anoher day of day to day work and functioning. herefore, most people with CFS are very misunderstood, often mistaken as lazy, crazy or malingerers, ut in fact, we are not. We represent the overachievers who at one time grabbed all of life with great voracity, with the dream of who we always wanted to \"be\" finally materializing... --------
